On March 27^th, Central Committee Member, Minister of Science and Technology (S&T), Nguyen Quan visited some scientific and technological enterprises in Thai Binh Province. Mr. Nguyen Hoang Giang - Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee of Thai Binh Province accompanied with the delegation.

Mr. Nguyen Quan - Minister of Science and Technology and the delegation visited and checked the production status at Thai Binh Seed Joint Stock Corporation. The company has the technological line of processing seeds as the most advanced technology of Vietnam with the capacity of over 10,000 tons of rice varieties per year.

Only in 2014, the rice varieties processing plant belongs to Thai Binh Seed Joint Stock Corporation has produced over 17,000 tons of rice varieties of all kinds, reached the turnover more than 500 billion VND, the profit of the business was over 70 billion, attracted and created jobs for over 300 workers with high and stable income. Along with attracting and creating jobs for employees to work at the plant, the company also signed with the cooperatives and local farmers in the province to build specialized area of production and consumption the seeds for the farmers.

After listening to the leader of Thai Binh Seed Joint Stock Corporation reported on the operation and production status of the company, Mr. Nguyen Quan - Minister of Science and Technology recognized, highly appreciated the effort, activeness, creation in investment for researching, bravely investment for production of Thai Binh Seed Corporation. The Minister of Science and Technology stressed that: In the context of Vietnam’s economy increasingly integrates deeply into the world economy, science and technology is the key issue to perform the task of agriculture restructuring. Because although achieving a certain number of achievements, but generally the level of science and technology in our agriculture is weak, the participation of enterprises is still limited. Therefore, there is no other better way to change, develop the agriculture through applying the scientific and technological advances into production in order to create the agricultural products with high economic value.

The Minister of Science and Technology said: I hope Thai Binh Seed Joint Stock Corporation continue to develop the tradition as the leading company for selection and breeding in the country, create many varieties of rice varieties in particular and plant seed in general to contribute to the development of agriculture in Vietnam towards the sustainability.

Also in the morning of March 27^th, Mr. Nguyen Quan - Minister of Science and Technology visited the Precast Concrete plant of Ba Ria - Vung Tau Urban Sewerage and Development One Limited Company (Busadco) in Vu Quy industrial zone, Kien Xuong District and checked the embankment for preventing the wave at the pilot project of building the embankment, lifting the mudflats planting trees to prevent the wave at the sea dike No.5 and No.6 (in Dong Minh commune and Nam Thinh commune, Tien Hai District).
