Being brave, assertive at work, enthusiastic and kind-hearted in human behavior, that is the characters of the Hero of Labor – Mr. Hoang Duc Thao, Chairman cum General Director of Ba Ria - Vung Tau Urban Sewerage and Development Company (BUSADCO). He has the honor of being awarded Ho Chi Minh Prize in Science and Technology by the State President as the author of typical works: "Construction of a comprehensive system of urban and rural infrastructure, environmental protection, natural disaster prevention and adaptation to the climate change" in Hanoi in the evening of 15^th January.

ARDUOUS START UP…

After 13 years of leading BUSADCO, the Hero of Labor – Mr. Hoang Duc Thao has been researched by his own and successfully created 60 scientific and technological works. Until now, the National Office of Intellectual Property has issued 20 patents for inventions; utility solutions with 58 decisions accepting valid applications and 30 patents for industrial design and 49 decisions accepting the application; the Ministry of Science and Technology has issued 18 new national standards; a certification of appropriate technology; the Ministry of Construction has issued 9 Certifications of appropriate technology; the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development has issued 2 Certifications of technical progress and new technology; Vietnam Concrete Association has issued 2 standards TC.VCA. The market of BUSADCO scientific and technological products has covering 42/63 cities and provinces in Vietnam, there have been 16 cities and provinces have issued guidelines to apply BUSADCO technology. In the evening of 15^th January in Hanoi, the State President awarded Ho Chi Minh Prize - the most prestigious award in Vietnam, for 9 works/clusters of works, including the works system “Construction of a comprehensive system of urban and rural infrastructure, environmental protection, natural disaster prevention and adaptation to the climate change"

            Currently, BUSADCO is one of the leading units in urban drainage sector of Vietnam in the field of public interest. BUSADCO has used the profit after taxes (not using the state budget) to invest in researching and applying technology and science. Busadco technological product has many remarkable advantages: using local materials and labor resources; improving labor productivity, saving cost, reducing shipping costs, reducing construction time; convenience in installing, operation and maintenance; ensure the urban landscape; using unburned material, therefore, it will not exhaust CO2, reducing greenhouse effect, serving the purpose of social welfare. Not to stop at the urban market, recently, BUSADCO technological products has been expanded the geographical application in rural areas in the North, help solving the problem of sustainable rural development under the policy of developing modern rural areas which is planned by the Party, critically contributing to the development of the national economy, contributing to the implementation of the National target program in the stage of 2012 - 2015 issued by the Government, especially the program of adapting to climate change, the program of developing new rural areas; the program of recovering and improving environmental pollution; the program of clean water and rural sanitation.

Having passion and enthusiasm for doing scientific researches but when he is asked about the prestigious awards he received, he answers distinctly: What is the essence of these honors if the workers still have too much worries for personal needs? The income of BUSADCO workers is not high, but deemed to be good. While many businesses are in difficult situation, BUSADCO still has been overcoming the difficulties, going upstream for investment to expand the production, scientific and technological plants. It is worth to be honored.

WHOLEHEARTEDLY FOR SCIENCE 

Going up from worker, the Hero of Labor – Mr. Hoang Duc Thao retains rustic and sincerity nature. He admits: Creating a brand is difficult, but maintaining it is doubly difficult. Thus, the advantage of customer and long-term profits increase have always been interested and preserved by BUSADCO. From the early days of establishment, the Hero of Labor – Mr. Hoang Duc Thao skillfully built up the human resources for the company. He has searched and paved the way for students graduated with excellent grade with enthusiasm to work for the company. He persuaded the workers with his heart, sincerity and experience of their predecessors. He compared his zeal as the queen bee drags on the military, but the energy is as worker bee; assiduously and diligently to jointly build up the bastion...

Mr. Nguyen Hong Linh, Member of the Party Central Committee, Provincial Party Committee Secretary, said: BUSADCO is a wisdom and enthusiasm collective. The successful of BUSADCO today is the journey but not the destination because it has been still focusing intensively on developing the main manufacture and business sector, developing training of human resources in intensively direction, intensively training to improve the skills and experience of the employees.
