Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tinh, Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee of Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province with the departments and the leaders of Vung Tau City are having a site survey.

Report to the leaders of People’s Committee of Vung Tau City and PPC, Ba Ria – Vung Tau Urban Sewerage and Development One Member Limited Company (BUSADCO) - the Employer of Vung Tau wastewater collection, treatment and drainage project stated that, up to now, the People’s Committee of Vung Tau City has issued the Decision on compensation for 232/266 households related to Vung Tau wastewater collection, treatment and drainage project. There were 214 households has received the compensation and handed over their lands, 18 households have not received the compensation and handed over their lands, 32 households and units have not received any decisions on approving the compensation. At present, Vung Tau wastewater collection, treatment and drainage project still has the obstacle in the ground clearance of 6 households (in Thang Tam Ward) and 1 unit (in Ward 8) locating on the main sewerage pipeline. This causes an obstruction in the sewerage pipeline connecting to the pumping stations to transfer wastewater into the plant for operation and treatment. In order to put the project into operation, BUSADCO would like to request the authorities of Vung Tau City to soon hand over the land with the area of 771,2m2 related to the Liquidation Council of Vung Tau Commercial Joint Stock Bank (VCSB) represented by Mr. Le An in the area of Ward 8 and 06 households in Thang Tam Ward, Vung Tau City.

For the resettlement project of 58 hectares in Ward 10, Vung Tau City, from 2004, the Provincial People’s Committee issued the Decision on acquiring over 573,000m2 at Chi Linh area of Ward 10 (Vung Tau City) and handed over the whole land area to the Land Fund Exploration and Management Company (now called Land Fund Development Centre) to carry out the land acquisition, compensation and ground clearance, direct manage the acquired land fund and establish the construction and investment project of resettlement area. However, this project has been still stuck in the ground clearance. For this reason, the illegal construction on area of the ward and security situation have become more complicated. According to Land Fund Development Centre of Ba Ria – Vung Tau Province - the project owner, on the project land, there are 647 land plots of more than 1,200 households with about over 1,000 temporary houses and houses of the grade 4 were constructed.

On this occasion, the provincial leadership delegation also had a site survey on the land with the area of 120 ha (Ward 10 and 11, Vung Tau City) transferred from Vietnam Bank for Industry and Trade to Ba Ria – Vung Tau Province. After checking and comparing the documents, the Land Fund Development Centre reviewed and counted that there have been 83 households living on this land are complaining and disputing.

Through the site survey, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tinh, the Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee requested the People’s Committee of Vung Tau to coordinate with the related departments to review the legality of the stuck land of households and units of Vung Tau wastewater collection, treatment and drainage project; to direct the specialized departments to carry out ground clearance drastically so that BUSADCO can construct and complete Vung Tau wastewater collection, treatment and drainage project in the soonest time.

Besides, the Vice Chairman of the PPC also requested the People’s Committee of Vung Tau City to survey population living and well implement the land management of the resettlement project of 58 hectares and the land area transferred from the Vietnam Bank for Industry and Trade in order to stop the illegal construction in this area.
