On 17^th August 2015, the Specialized Science and Technology Council of Ministry of Construction held a acceptance meeting for 04 Standard Drafts TCVN (Vietnam Standards) ...: 2015 presided by Vietnam Concrete Association. Dr. Hoang Quang Nhu - Deputy Director of the Science, Technology and Environment Department - Ministry of Construction (MOC) was Chairman of the Council.

According to the authors, 04 standards were established on the basis of accepting appropriate technological solutions for "Technological line of manufacturing precast reinforced concrete (RC) products with thin walls applied for technical infrastructure and environmental protection" of Ba Ria – Vung Tau Urban Sewerage and Development One Member Limited Company (BUSADCO) – the technological line was recognized by MOC and allowed to be widely applied in the country (at the Decision No.885/QD-BXD dated 30^th September 2011).

Vietnamese Standard TCVN …2015 “Precast reinforced concrete (P.R.C) trenches with thin walls for cable and piping distribution” was established to improve and synchronize with the standard system of technical trenches for production and design of underground infrastructure; because previously, there had been Vietnamese Standard TCVN 10332:2014, "Precast reinforced concrete trenches with thin walls" established by Vietnam Concrete Association, but there have not been any exclusive standards of the manholes for technical trenches. The compilation of this standard is absolutely necessary.

For Vietnamese Standards TCVN …2015 "P.R.C manhole with thin walls, Part 3 - The cover and screening" were complied to complete and synchronize with Vietnamese standards TCVN 10333 to 1.2: 2014" "P.R.C manhole with thin walls, Part 1 – rainwater collection pit and odor control pit; Part 2 – R.C box manhole ", the cover and screening are important parts of structure of three types of above mentioned manholes; national technical standards should be compiled to complete the legal bases for quality management, design consultancy and preparation of unit prices for manholes in particular and urban infrastructure projects in general.

TCVN…2015 “P.R.C green garbage cans” were newly established on the basis of applying garbage cans (made by reinforced concrete, decentralized fibrous concrete) of BUSADCO with light and thin walls, ensuring the beauty and meeting the criteria for environmental protection. Vietnamese Standard TCVN will be a useful tool for quality management of domestic products as well as imported ones, design consultancy and their cost estimates in the management investment projects of solid waste.

TCVN …2015 “P.R.C tombs" were newly established on the basis of the RC tombs limited by two forms of burial and cremation after being burnt. Vietnamese standards TCVN will contribute to uniform standards in building tombs by using precast reinforced concrete and decentralized fibrous concrete according to the technology of manufacturing thin walls plate with high quality.

Opponent commissioners and members of the Council also evaluated that 04 standard drafts were carefully complied according to regulations on structure, outline and style of a standard document. Besides, the Council also gave out some comments on sentences, terms and some inappropriate contents... so that the drafts could be more complete.

Concluding of the meeting, Dr. Hoang Quang Nhu expressed his agreement with the whole of Council, he reminded the authors to acquire the comments and quickly modify their drafts so that the Ministry of Science and Technology could issue these standards soon and put them into practice, contributing to improve the quality of technical infrastructure and urban infrastructure works and complete the standard system of Vietnam on related fields.

04 drafts were accepted by the Council with the result of “good” grade.
