(Construction News) – According to Ba Ria –Vung Tau Urban Sewerage and Development Company (BUSADCO), the wastewater treatment plant has been now in commissioning period before putting into official operation by the end of December, 2015.

Mr. Hoang Duc Thao - General Director of BUSADCO said: The technology of this plant is considered as the most modern one in Vietnam. The technology can treat water, sludge and odor. After treatment, the water meets the standard for irrigation use and sludge can be reused.

The French Embassy in Vietnam – Mr. Jean-Noel Poirier affirmed: Vung Tau wastewater collection, treatment and drainage project is one of the projects funded by the source of 16 million Euros for the developing countries of the General Treasury of France. This is the evidence of a good relation between French and Vietnamese Governments.

BUSADCO is the Employer of Vung Tau wastewater collection, treatment and drainage project using ODA fund of the French Government in the framework of the project on treating environmental pollution in BR – VT province, phase of 2011-2015.

The total initial investment of project was approximately 900 billion dong including about 392 billion dongs of ODA fund, over 507 billion dongs of local budget (After being adjusted, the total investment was increased to be more than 900 billion dongs). With the capacity of 22,000m3/day, the project has 28 km of wastewater collection pipelines.

Started since 1999, the project aims to connect the wastewater systems of the residential areas into the centralized collection system; improve and expand a semi-separated sewer system and construct a wastewater treatment plant.
