Dr. Hoang Duc Thao and his colleagues of Ba Ria – Vung Tau Urban Sewerage and Development One Member Limited Company (BUSADCO) “have researched and applied the precast reinforced concrete technical trenches with thin walls in laying-out the technical infrastructure underground in the urban areas of Vietnam."
Currently, most of the construction works and water supply and drainage works in our country are using reinforced concrete products precast according to manual methods, centrifugation so they normally do not ensure waterproofing, anti-corrosion and anti-erosion with low productivity. The categories are not diversified, they do not satisfy the standard of water supply, drainage and environmental sanitation. It is very complicated for maintenance and the quality is not equal.
In addition, the production of reinforced concrete by pressing vibration technology, vibration core using pipe precast machine imported from oversea with very high cost and it is heavy, expensive and difficult in construction and installation process.
To produce a reinforced concrete product with very thin walls, only between 25 - 70mm, minimizing volume and weight comparing with normal precast reinforced concrete product, BUSADCO has used material including sulfate resisting portland cement; cold drawn steel with high-strength to make a steel mesh; natural stone with size from 5-10mm; using vibration technology while pouring concrete into shaped mold.
The vibration equipment can create oscillations according to the horizontal and the vertical direction. It helps to push all air bubbles out off the concrete in order to ensure the solid concrete, smooth surfaces inside and outside, no permeability, while ensuring bearing structures as required with long lifespan corresponding to life of works. Therefore, the concrete products with thin walls ensure the requirement of anti-erosion in geological and topographical conditions, hydrometeorology of Vietnam.
In addition, for material technology, it is also researched and applied a special additive which allows to accelerate the interoperability of concrete, increase the intensity of adhesion, shorten the time waiting for removing formwork without affecting the quality of concrete. This is new advantage of the material technology of concrete with thin walls.
Because the product is precast, thinner and lighter, so, it is very convenient for installation. The product is precast in the factory, then just bring it to the site for installation, it is very appropriate for replacing the existing system.
The product is using materials available in the country, it is fully active in material supply and technology, saving investment costs, raw materials and manpower, minimizing the cost of production, construction and installation, maintenance and operation compared with normal reinforced concrete.
Specifically, on the same production line, we can manufacture many synchronized products matching the demands for construction and renovation of urban technical infrastructure and environment.
The technical trenches for cable and piping distribution was issued the Certificate of quality for circulating in the market by QUATEST 3.
The technical trenches for cable and piping distribution is formed into several compartments which overcomes the regularly digging up and filling down when needed to add the underground works. It does not affect the works done before, after and is convenient for construction and installation as well as maintenance and operation of underground cable system under the roadbed, solve the "road excavation" causing difficult for the management of urban infrastructure.
The above technical trenches have partitions to create the compartment for arranging and installing suitably the underground infrastructure systems such as: lines, telecommunications cables, electric cable, public lighting, water supply pipelines, energy supply pipelines ... ensuring the safety requirements, be waterproofing, anti-erosion, anti-corrosion with high bearing capacity.
It is saving steel, cement when producing the product but still ensuring the technical elements of reinforced concrete. It is also thin, light, convenient and quick in installation ... These are outstanding advantages of the precast reinforced concrete products with thin walls (thin-walled concrete) manufactured by BUSADCO. This is an initiative to basically solve the problem of water pollution, enhance the beauty for construction works and contribute to environmental protection in urban areas of Vietnam.
